V/H/S/ 2 is probably still the best of the V/H/S series and for good reason. First, there's a lot of recognizable names as directors for this series. Simon Barret (Writer for You're Next), Gareth Evans (The Raid, The Raid 2, Godzilla), Eduardo Sánchez (Blair Witch), Adam Wingard (You're Next, Godzilla vs Kong ) and Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun). Now THAT'S a list of directors. And it really shows this time around. Every one of the shorts in V/H/S 2 is well shot with a good, self-contained story. Phase I Clinical Trials (Adam Wingard) and Safe Haven (Gareth Evans & Timo Tjahjanto) are probably the two best but all of them are enjoyable. They're also really good for fueling any nightmares you might have. The body horror and gore are amped up in this but not to the point of being over-the-top. There is something here for everyone. Want cults? They got that. Want hauntings? Got you. Zombies? Yup. Aliens? Sure why not. It's all in here and all creepy.
