Spider-Man 2 is widely regarded as one of the best comic book movies of all time. Even today, with other films, Spider-Man 2 is still the standard many use. But is that fair? How well does this film hold up? In this episode of the Nostalgia Review, we explore that.

The CG and action scenes in this film hold up pretty well for a film made 13 years ago. While there are definitely better CG and action scenes in films today, there is a HUGE improvement between this film and the first one. Where this film starts to stumble is the acting. Both Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst do an incredibly bad job of “face acting” during this movie. It’s incredibly painful at times and distracts from the movie.
