Ratchet&Clank

Ratchet & Clank, the movie based on the PlayStation game, has opened to tepid reviews from critics but fans of the games will be happy to know that the creators and actors have stayed faithful to the story. Ratchet voiced by James Arnold Taylor is a sly fox-like alien who finds a robot he dubs Clank voiced by David Kaye. Both actors are brought over from the game series to reprise their voices. They are backed by an all-star cast including Paul Giamatti, Rosario Dawson, John Goodman and Bella Thorne.

The story is heavily based on the first game which will also be revamped and rereleased by PlayStation soon. When speaking to the creators at this year’s WonderCon, they expressed the importance of staying true to the game and hoping that the game and movie can be companions giving fans two different but connected experiences. Since gamers are a very active and vocal group of fans, they wanted to make sure that the film was not afraid to just be what it is. Although the reviews have been halfhearted, I think fans of the game will enjoy watching their favorite characters come to life in a new way.
