What it does right (Boyega, better action scenes) can't overpower the ridiculous and convoluted plot that makes no sense
5.8

Pacific Rim Uprising had one job: Follow up the 2013 film with a bit more action and a more dynamic lead. That's it. And on the surface, it does that. On the surface, the action in Pacific Rim Uprising is better than the original. And John Boyega can act circles around Charlie Hunnam. Yet this film then decides to add in a bunch of character it never develops and a convoluted plot that drags everything down.

Listen as Kriss & Phenom break down what went wrong (spoiler-free).
