Movie Review: Pokémon Detective Pikachu Is Only Interested In Fan Service
On the depressing scale of video game movies, this is fine. But you will forget about it by the middle of next week

The bar is in the gutter for movies based off of video games and so Detective Pikachu didn't have to do much to impress. And yet...it's still forgettable. The fan service and Ryan Reynolds will be enough for some while others continue to wonder why studios keep making these poor attempts with little effort. Look on the bright side...at least this isn't the travesty that will be the Sonic The Hedgehog movie.
