Michelle MacLaren to Direct ‘Wonder Woman’

From THR:

MaclarenMichelle MacLaren has signed on to develop and direct Wonder Woman, Warner Bros’ big-screen take on the iconic DC character.

According to insiders, MacLaren will work with the project’s writers, who remain unnamed at this stage, to lasso together a script for the movie, which would star Gal Gadot. The actress will make her debut as the heroine in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are among those producing the Wonder Woman movie, which is set for a 2017 release.

MacLaren was a top choice for the project due to her muscular work on Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, although she is perhaps most associated with her directing and executive producing work on the much-loved Breaking Bad.

Well there you have it.  Folks will have to find something else to be mad at WB/DC for.  They not only got a woman to direct Wonder Woman but a good one at that.  MacLaren was at the top of a lot of people's list and it looks like the people are going to get what they want.  Look, I didn't think that a woman had to be picked to direct Wonder Woman but considering how qualified MacLaren is, I definitely feel as though they got someone who is more than qualified for the task.  One thing I also found interesting though was that Zack Snyder would be producing the film.  It makes me wonder how many of these films Synder will have his hands in.  Either way, I'm excited.  2017 will be a great year.  We got Wonder Woman, Black Panther & Justice League Part 1 just to name a few.  I can't wait.
