Fox has unveiled a slew of release dates including one for Channing Tatum‘s “Gambit,” which will open on Oct. 7, 2016.

In other superhero news, “The Fantastic Four 2″ has moved up from July 14, 2017 to June 2, 2017. A new “Planet of the Apes” movie is taking the sequel’s old release date.

Michael Fassbender‘s “Assassin’s Creed” will open on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, and less than 100 hours later, on Christmas Day, Fox will release Hugh Jackman‘s P.T. Barnum movie “The Greatest Showman on Earth.” SOURCE

So here's the thing.  I made a decision a while ago to not be upset by anything Fox does with any of their X-Men properties.  I've accepted that they more than likely will not be in line with what I would want from these films and I just need to get with the program.  The only thing that really has me worried about this is that I'm not a big Channing Tatum fan.  The only thing I've seen him in that I've enjoy is 21/22 Jump Street.  When I think of the charming, charismatic Cajun Gambit...I don't see Channing Tatum.  It worries me that they've only had him in mind for this.  Nothing in Channing Tatum's filmography says he can do this role.  So that tells me they cast him for looks and that's never good.  Now, having said that, I've heard great things about Foxcatcher.  Unfortunately I haven't seen it yet but if Tatum puts in a great performance in that then maybe I can see him in the role.  It also depends on who is directing the film.  A great director might be able to pull out a great performance from Tatum.  So I'm going to just sit back and see what happens with this.  I'm trying to give Fox a chance.  If they can keep Bryan Singer away from this then maybe they can pull it off.

As for the other news, I find the confidence that Fox has in Josh Trank & the Fantastic Four reboot to be comforting.  I know a lot of people have written this off and it could still be a complete shit show, but the fact that they're already looking to have a sequel dropping a year after the first one is promising.  Especially since we haven't even seen a trailer or anything from it yet.  Oh and another Apes movie?  Oh yeah...I'm down, they can keep making those.
