First Trailer for Warcraft

Video Games haven’t seen the same revolution Comic Books have when it comes to translation to movies. It’s really been an odd thing to witness. The reason why Comic Book Movies have done so well is that the studios behind them started taking them seriously. They started getting not just good actors but great directors and writers to put together a complete package. Unfortunately for movies based off of video games, Studios seem to still be sticking to the old “Just throw something together” method.
But there is hope. Ubisoft has put together their own studio much like Marvel did and are working on Assassin’s Creed and several other movies that look to be pretty good. Then you have Warcraft which is a partnership between Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment. They grabbed a pretty good director in Duncan Jones and seem to be pretty serious about it. They’ve been working on putting this film together since 2006. Filming has actually been done on this film since 2014 but because of the heavy CGI they’ve been working on making it as good as possible. I have to say, while the CG still needs some fine tuning, it looks pretty good. Warcraft isn’t scheduled for release until June 2016, so there’s plenty of time to make it look even better. So far I’m impressed with what I’m seeing. I’m hoping it works out. I’m tired of video games not getting the respect they deserve when it comes to movies.
