Welcome to the premiere episode of DocuDrunks, featuring three ladies from the MTR Network reviewing and discussing issues around documentaries focused on the experiences of people of color and marginalized groups. In this first installment, we discuss 13th, the documentary from Ava Duvernay on Netflix. From the political motivations involved in defining criminality to the far reaching effects of big business and its' involvement in the prison industry, the documentary and this episode examines the impact of the use of the 13th Amendment as an extension of slavery.
