I don’t understand trashing the Tyler Perry type of films but then the lack of interest in Sundance winning black films like this either. It’s confusing.
Just cause a film wins at Sundance doesn’t mean a person will like it too. A movie can be good but also not interesting depending on a person’s taste. We’re not binary creatures
I really enjoyed this movie. It was a great representation of what black folks go through at PWIs and hell..at their jobs in a white dominating environment. The marketing was genius as well.
