I just want to go on the record saying that I think if done right, a PG-13 Deadpool could have still worked. I think a lot of times folks get caught up on the superficial stuff when it comes to movies. There are some pretty violent and edgy PG-13 movies out there. Edge of Tomorrow featured Tom Cruise dying repeatedly in horrible ways and it was PG-13 and a great movie. Now having said that, I think it's great news that Deadpool will be R-rated. Mainly because Ryan Reynolds and everyone else wants it to be. That's when I think the movie rating matters. When the people making the film want to make a R-Rated film but the studios want it to be PG-13, you start seeing some problems. This tells me Fox is listening and wants to do this film right. Meaning, they want to remove the image of Deadpool we saw in the first Wolverine movie from our minds. And I'm here for it.

Plus, the way they announced this was just perfect.
