DC Comic Book Show ‘Titans’ Dropped by TNT

TeenTitans1A while back it was announced that there was interest in creating a live action Teen Titans TV show on TNT.  Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news on the show. Unfortunately the news isn't good:

In his first executive session as the president of TNT and TBS, Kevin Reilly revealed at Television Critics Association winter press tour that the former has passed on drama Titans, about superheroes-to-be.

"We just decided it wasn’t quite where we wanted to go," he said.

The project, from Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics, also had high-profile names attached in Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) and Marc Haimes. SOURCE

It's unfortunate because I know there was a lot of interest in this project. There's been a huge rush to capitalize on the comic book industry when it comes to TV & film. From the CW and it's stable of DC shows to ABC with Agents of Shield/Agent Carter, we're seeing a lot of interest in these types of shows. Soon we'll getting a pair of X-Men TV shows with Hellfire on Fox and Legion on FX.  AMC will be adding Preacher. So its a little bit sad that the Teen Titans won't make it to live action on TNT. However, that might free up the CW to use some of these characters on The Flash, Arrow or Legends of Tomorrow. So while the news isn't great, there's still hope yet.
