CW’s Arrow Brings a New Showrunner and The Longbow Hunters to Season 7
Arrow is the veteran of the CW DC TV universe (hence why we call it the Arrowverse). Being around for seven seasons means Arrow has to find new ways to stay fresh and judging from the season 7 trailer, they're attempting to do just that. First, this season gets a new showrunner. Beth Schwartz takes over for Marc Guggenheim as the solo showrunner for next season. Schwartz is no stranger to the show though, starting off as a writing assistant and working her way to co-executive producer of season 6.
As for the show itself, the trailer shows us a much different Star City. Oliver is in jail, vigilantes are outlawed in Star City and Earth-2 Laurel Lance seems to have completely taking over her the original Laurel's persona and is now operating as a DA. To make matters worse, Ricardo Diaz is still out free and the Long Bow Hunters that were name dropped last season, are coming for Team Arrow. It was announced that the trio of villains would be arriving this season to help enact Diaz's revenge. The Longbow Hunters include:
- Red Dart (Holly Elissa – Whistler), a ruthless and precise killer
- Kodiak (Michael Jonsson – Van Helsing), a beast of a man with brute force
- Silencer (Miranda Edwards – The Magicians, Orphan Black), a master of stealth
On top of the new threats, while locked up Oliver will be "reunited" with some familiar faces. Michael Jai White, Vinnie Jones and Cody Runnels will be returning as Bronze Tiger, Brick and Derek Sampson to make sure Oliver gets a warm welcome in federal prison.
Throw in the return of Colton Haynes as Roy Harper as a series regular and season 7 of Arrow looks to be jammed packed already.
