Comic Book Book Club: Tom King’s Batman Run – City of Bane

Kriss and Dpalm wrap up their reread of Tom King's Batman run with City of Bane.We get the reveal of what caused Thomas Wayne to side with Bane to stop Bruce from continuing on as Batman and Bruce's plan to take back Gotham from Bane's clutches. Much like Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four run, this run ends up being one about Fathers and Sons. Thomas uses his experiences from his timeline/dimension to try to dictate to an adult Bruce (who isn't his Bruce) what to do. In comparison, we see how much the man that really became Bruce's father, Alfred, has shaped and molded him to be the man he is today.
This was a fun reread and we're hoping that DC continues to build on what Scott Snyder and Tom King have done with Batman to continue to move him in a new direction.
