Black Woman Shoutout: Attorney Susan Berry

Native Washingtonian and great friend to the MTR Network, Attorney Susan Berry is highlighted on episode 5 of Secret Sauce. Susan practices in the Maryland/Washington area and her focus is Family, Civil and Criminal law. 
Susan discovered she had a passion for litigation while working on her bachelor's in Accounting at Michigan State University. While it was a tough time to become an attorney due to the economic downturn at the time, Susan was able find and internship with a firm focused on Estate Planning, Family and Probate law becoming a trusted advocate in her community.
During the interview Susan discusses the many obstacles to becoming an attorney and the importance of law which seems to be increasingly under fire in the troubled times that we are in today. We also discuss why becoming an attorney may not be the best decision to make and what it feels like to have a adversarial colleague.
In the future Susan plans to be the head of family law or partner in a major firm.
